Supple

Next Thursday is the opening day of "Supple," the show I am curating to coincide with the ArtDC fair being held next weekend at the Washington Convention Center. I wanted to remind everyone which artists are included, where the show will be and the schedule of events.

The show is being hosted by the extremely generous owners of The Space, a refurbished auto repair shop orginally constructed in 1900. The Space is located at 903 N St, NW and that is the northwest corner of the Convention Center site. If you go to ArtDC, "Supple" is but a 2-3 block walk north on 9th St. If you just want to see "Supple" - and hopefully you do - it is centrally located with easy Metro access and a fair amount of street parking.

Schedule of events:

Gallery hours are Thursday - Sunday, 11am - 7pm.
There will be a reception on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 7 - 9pm.
At approximately 8pm on Thursday and Saturday, we'll have a short live performance of one of Matt Sargent's compositions. Specifically:

Thursday @ 8pm: Rachel Gawell (cello) performs Soft Song (for solo cello) [9 min. 15 sec.]
Saturday @ 8pm: Andrea Vercoe (violin) performs Sonata for Solo Violin (2nd section) [10-11 min.]

On Friday and Saturday night (after the Supple receptions), The Space has booked some additional live music for anyone interested in hanging out in the space, listening to more music and having a drink. These concerts are not affiliated with Supple though the artwork will remain on view for your enjoyment.

There will be a cash bar during the receptions and late night live music.

I hope lots of you can stop by and see the show. I will be in the gallery for practically the entire time it's open so please do stop by and say hi. And in case you're curious, almost all of the art on view will be for sale. So come down and add something to your collection!
