To break up a long day sitting at the Warehouse, we headed down to the National Gallery of Art and saw the Paris in Transition show. One piece by Brassai caught my eye:

What intrigued me was the casual way that Brassai caught the woman directly and through the mirror. In one view she looks completely infatuated with the man. In the other, she looks like the Joker. I couldn't help but think of Barbara Probst's work currently on view at G Fine Art:
Probst uses multiple cameras snapping the image at the same time to capture the two views of the same subject. Brassai did the same thing but with one camera and a mirror. Both artists acheived to some degree the same effect. Interesting...
