Posting has been light around here recently but I am happy to say that I haven't been completely unproductive. With all due respect and apologies to the brilliant Richmond, VA, painter Duane Keiser, I would like to leverage his idea of the "A Painting a Day." His blog is without a doubt a very fascinating creature and I have purchased three paintings from there myself. I do not know of anyone that did what he is doing before him and I don't know of anyone to do it since.
In my latest project at work I've had to use Microsoft Visio a great deal. I quickly found out that it is a wonderful tool for making pictures... especially if the pictures are geometric like my artwork tends to be. So recently I started experimenting with it for art purposes and it has been fantastic to quickly work through ideas and sketches. It just so happened that recently I've been thinking a lot about printmaking and trying to figure out a way to go that route. Well, until I can get involved with lithography, woodcuts, etc, this will just have to do.
I understand that collecting art can be a costly endeavor so I would like to follow Duane's lead and offer up these editioned prints for the low price of $20 + shipping ($5 unless it's an unusual circumstance). They are done using a laserjet printer and are on archival, ultra-bright white card stock paper. I was amazed at the quality of the print (granted, it's not perfect... but for what it is it's not bad at all... and cost effective!). The paper size is 8.5" x 11" and the image size varies. Editions will be low - anywhere from 10-25 depending on the print. And, eventually I hope to offer up custom frames made by my Dad... but those details will be worked out at a later date. In the meantime, prints are unframed.
I'm going to start by offering one edition of a print for sale sometime on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The first person to email me (must be by email) will get the print. All prints will be signed, numbered, and titled, and you'll notice that these pieces correlate well with my work in wood and in drawing.
I've probably got about 10 prints completed as of now and will continue to make new ones. Though I will offer up one edition of a print one day, that same print will be available again at a later time for those who missed out the first time. Prints will be marked sold when/if they sell so that everyone is aware of the status. I also will create a link in the right column so that people can go straight to the posts highlighting prints that have been posted here.
Alright! No longer do potential collectors have any reason to complain about the price of art. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do. I encourage you to click on the image to get the full size version as the blog software alters the quality of the image when it is compressed.
Without further ado, here's the first one (be sure to click on it!):

The following is an unsolicited testimonial:
Hey all; I saw these prints in the flesh. (So to speak.) Grab one when you can.
