Candy Keegan: Personality
Washington, DC, artist, Candy Keegan, continues my recent project by writing about "personality." As usual, I extend an invitation to all local artists who would like to participate in this effort. Just email me!
Candy Keegan: Personality
There are many different types of people in the world. When you first meet someone, you often get a sense of their “personality”. Are they shy? Quiet? What does their body language say about them? Do you feel immediately comfortable or uneasy in their presence? Even after you know someone for a while, there are usually some very general personality traits that stand out. Every once in a while though, you meet a person who has a way of exuding “personality”. Usually when you meet someone like that, you can’t exactly put your finger on what it is about that person, but for whatever reason, you are drawn to them. I suppose that in many ways, art is like that, too. You may walk past several different works of art in a gallery or museum and then suddenly, you stop in front of one thing; one piece of artwork that you are drawn to. When I find a work like that, I become completely absorbed in it, as if it is somehow releasing an energy force that I am standing there breathing in; magically being filled up with an unexplainable force that I know amazingly, will stay with me long after I leave. I remember feeling that way when I saw the Sistine Chapel for the first time. Thankfully, I have met a few people like that in my lifetime as well. Those are the kind of people who are energy-givers. Those are the people who through their vibrant or maybe offbeat and unique, or sometimes even strangely eccentric “personalities” , fill me up with that same unexplainable force; they stimulate intellect, ignite passions and give fascination and intrigue to the sometimes otherwise difficult and lonely road life can be. Here’s to PERSONALITY!

Ms. Keegan's work is hot, fresh, sexy, sensual, and raging with concrete blonde ambition and does it all without pandering to my prurient interests!
I also find it interesting that she is able to achieve her effect without devolving into a narcissistic display of her personal best attributes as a model for her work.
Best Sex = Intellect
Love it!
Sincerely,

James,
That was one of the best comments on an artists' work that I've read on this site. Fun, succinct, and from the gut. Bravo.
And of course, Brava to Ms. Keegan.
