Elyse Harrison: Motivation
Artist and gallery owner Elyse Harrison of Bethesda, MD, continues my recent project by writing about "motivation." As usual, I extend an invitation to all local artists who would like to participate in this effort. Just email me!
Elyse Harrison: Motivation
We are all motivated by something, right? I come from a family of inventors. My childhood was filled with art, music, poetry and theater. I think it would be really strange if I wasn't the way I am today, which might be described as, yes, motivated by creativity. At an early age, I knew that art and music motivated me the most. In the 9-5 work world I am surrounded by everyday, people sometimes drop in to visit my gallery/studio and I think they know that they might just leave here feeling... motivated."

I am writing research about street art and art therapy. Can you send me some sites or your fav list of books/articles etc.? I am especially interested in fringe cultures/youth/immigrants in the current millenium...
