Not too long ago I stumbled upon the work of two artists who immediately intrigued me. Though similar in the "look" of their work, Peter Zimmerman and Brad Hampton are very different artists. Zimmerman's paintings are typically priced in the tens of thousands of dollars, while Hampton's work is but a small fraction of that amount.
I've never seen this work in person. I'm going to share with you the same thing that I've seen... dreaded jpgs. However, using my imagination I can really feel the lushness of this work. I can sense the beauty of the color. I just know that I would enjoy these works in person:

I have nothing profound or insightful to say about this work. Like I said, I've never seen it in person. However, I'm always interested to see artists who are very similar stylistically, but very different from a pricing persepctive ($20k vs. $1k). I thought it might be of some interest to those who visit my site as well. If nothing else, by showing art that I have a positive emotional response to, I will be allowing readers into my mind as an artist. Perhaps in my weekly posts sharing my own work you can see similarities between the work above and my own.
If you'd like to learn more about Zimmerman or Hampton, consult their Web sites linked to in the first paragraph. Both have a large amount of commentary on their work.

Hey,
Actually I've seen Zimmerman's work in person at Art Basal Miami. It's stunning, and I am working on some pieces that are inspired by him. I use epoxy resin to make them as well. Please contact me if you're interested in buying some, kbanas@stetson.edu.
